We've got lots of cute kittens, but we need someone to show them off! Kitten Central is currently seeking tech-savvy volunteers to assist in managing our media presence.
Duties could include:
-Making regular postings of our feline friends
-Learning to use Meta Business Suite to manage the page
-Creating content to promote our events and fundraisers
-Responding to messages and comments
-Keeping our donors and followers up to date on the goings on at Kitten Central
-Anything else you want to dream up!
Clean cages and care for the cats staying at Kitten Central. We follow the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Protocol for cleaning procedures. You will learn the safe handling of kittens and how to sanitize their accommodations.
Duties can include:
-Cage/Carrier/Litter Box Cleaning and Sanitation
-Changing Food, Water, Litter, and Toys
-Bottle Feeding
-Administering Daily Medication
-Socialization (with cats, not people)
-Sweeping
-Laundry
-Providing Lots of Love!
This position takes place at Kitten Central.
Medical Assistants are trained to assist the Medical Lead in providing daily hands-on care for each kitten.
Duties include:
- Assisting with Medical Exams (taking temperatures, trimming nails, weighing, drawing medications)
-Recording Exam Notes
-Administering vaccines and medications
-Giving Lyme baths
-Preparing kittens to go to fosters
-Inventory Control and Organization
-Backing up Cat Care Staff
Shifts are Mon.-Fri. 10 AM - 3 PM at Kitten Central.
Transporters are on call for occasional emergency pickups of kittens. They also bring kittens to and from spay and neuter appointments which run on a fixed schedule. Additionally kittens sometimes need to be transported to external veterinary appointments.
Fundraising is critical to help keep our doors open. We are always looking for creative, hard working volunteers. Volunteers can take the initiative to plan, manage, and implement new ideas or help with our established fundraising events.
We are always in need of volunteers to help work events, whether it is baking fudge, setting up, or carrying boxes. A few hours of your time on the weekend of a big event make our fundraisers possible. Please consider adding yourself to the list of volunteers that are able to help out a couple times a year!
