Our mission is to reduce euthanasia rates for medically dependent neonatal kittens through action and education.

Neonatal kittens are incredibly fragile and often euthanized in shelters. These kittens require around the clock medical care that most shelters cannot provide. Our mission is to save kitten’s lives and help shelters by caring for these kittens until they are ready for adoption.

Kitten Central does not rescue, adopt, or take in animals. We are a non-profit and the only organization in our area that provides a comprehensive medical fostering program for orphaned neonatal kittens under 28 days old. We operate our own private medical facility to provide specialized care.

Our partnership with Placer County Animal Services has resulted in their achievement of a 0% kitten euthanasia rate. We also support other local rescues.

Our kittens receive individualized care in trained, loving foster homes. Kittens remain in the program until they have completed medical protocol, been spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Kittens are then returned to the sponsoring rescue with a complete medical history for a healthy adoption.
